Safety Education & Resources...Safety Is Our #1 Goal™

We do take safety seriously! Our perspective on safety goes beyond the confines of the self storage facility and revolves around our "Safety Through Prevention & Personal Responsibility" campaign. Working with Cit of Madison Police & Fire Department staff, we have authored a variety of safety messages about safety in and around the home and as you travel. Please feel free to share any these safety messages with those you care dearly about.

Student "Prevention Through Education & Personal Responsibility" Program

Additionally, if you have college-students away from home, we have outlined “Building Safety, Personal Safety and Fire Safety” that is a must read for them and their roommates!

As owners of rental properties on the UW campus we have always been concerned with student safety and how sometimes through either lack of education or not using common sense can place residents in an unsafe situation. When touring our rental properties, we find too often that building security or fire protection measures have been disarmed or tampered with so they don’t provide the safety protection intended.

Working directly with the City of Madison Police and Fire Departments, we have developed a communication piece that focuses in on; Building Security, Personal Safety and Fire Safety. Our program involves the posting of a bright safety yellow & red 11x17 laminate poster in the common areas of the buildings. Then during the lease signing we go over the safety flyer with the residents and provide a copy too. Also at the lease signing process we also have them sign and date on a copy of the safety flyer for our files. The intent of all of this is to educate and ask for their personal responsibility. We feel that the best prevention is through education and request personal responsibility, so that hopefully through these efforts we can avoid a harmful situation.

Wisconsin K9 SOS Search and Rescue, Inc., was formed in 2005 in response to the need for trained search dog teams in Wisconsin. WI K9 SOS is a volunteer search & rescue K9 unit. We search for missing persons – live or deceased - on land (urban, wilderness), water (including side scan sonar), and buildings. Our members receive training in 1st Aid, CPR, K9 first Aid, search strategy, scent theory, report writing, crime scene preservation, radio communication, map and compass, GPS (global positioning system), as well as computer software to analyze and map GPS data. Our members certify K9s through the following nationally-recognized agencies: LETS, NASDN, NAPWDA in trailing, cadaver, water cadaver, and live area scent.
