Who Are We?
Our family is native to the Madison area and hold professional (day jobs) in Marketing and Accounting. We went to college here and have owned real estate for over 30 years. Having two young lads in school, we are actively involved with coaching youth saports, leading a scout den and providing support in the classroom.

We realize that your needing storage can be because of a variety of situations and we work hard to accommodate those needs. Our goal is to provide you great service and offer you a clean, dry, safe, and secure facility at a much more affordable price than the corporate-type storage locations. Our facility features the not only the latest in structural building design and the “Guardian Cylinder Lock/key” system but also a virtually dust-free black-top paved facility with a site drainage system and own storm water management system to collect and divert water away from the site.
Location, Location, Location:
This adage is ever true in self storage facilities! Not all facilities are alike in terms of facility location, building construction or management. Regarding location, AppleWood Self storage is in the City of Madison (not an out in the country rural site). Being in the City limits, benefits to you are that we are served by Madison Police & Fire Departments, with a fire hydrant right out front and from a safety standpoint, we are located on a high traffic, highly visible location in the vibrant new Madison Commerce Park.
Constructed in 2004, we feature metal buildings with interior metal walls (not drywall, concrete block or plywood) with insulated ceilings (keeps condensation from dripping), raised concrete floors, easy roll-up doors with top and bottom weather stripping, Guardian Cylinder Locks with blacktop aisles for less dust. And, our site has its own storm water management system right on site with aggressive sloping between aisles for efficient water drainage.
Renting From Us:
When you visit this family-owned and managed facility to look at a unit, you will be visiting a modern clean facility. When you call us we will discuss what you are storing, when you will need to start storing and now long you anticipate staying with us. From this information, we will make size recommendations and schedule with you, a showing appointment. At that appointment, we will show you a unit size so you can get a visual idea that the space you are looking at will accommodate your needs. If you are comfortable with us, we will have you sign a lease and issue you a key. Your lease is a month-to-month lease (calendar months). If while during your stay, you need to change to a larger size, downsize, or add another unit, we will work to accommodate you.
You will NOT need to purchase a lock as we will provide you FREE the “Guardian Cylinder” lock system for the duration of your stay. We accept Visa and Master card, charging your card at the 1st of the month.
When you vacate, we only require a fifteen (15) day written notice (letter or email is fine), before the end of the month. When you leave us, we ask that you “broom clean” the unit, lock it and return to us the keys we have provided, in the mail slot in the office door, on or before the last day of the calendar month.
